Saturday night met a crowded chapel of costumes, noise-makers, hamentaschen and excitement waiting to start the Purim holiday. Between megillah chapters, the holiday committee presented disney songs written to tell the story of Megillat Esther. The social committee held an auction, raising over $200 to be donated to the Avi Schaefer Fund. Students bid as much as $50 for unknown prizes - sometimes walking away making $5 and sometimes spending a lot of money on a pez or a keychain. Megillah reading was followed by a beautiful havdalah and a Purim Peggplant Parmesan dinner. The night continued with a celebration at Two Jerks Pub in East Providence. Here, we danced to live music, played pooled and had a bit to drink as the overlap between Purim and a Saturday night was greatly taken advantage of. Following another megillah reading Sunday morning, Rabbi Rackover hosted a delicious seudah (festive meal) at his house and students stopped by throughout the day to enjoy. Great holiday, great weekend. Let's do it again next year! Pictures Purim 2010
